Cheerleader has returned with a new single “Bang, Bang”. Directed by Evan Henderson, the group’s animated video intriguingly peels away layers, revealing playfully bizarre imagery. Luminous, dreamy psych-pop is on full display. You can catch Cheerleader performing this evening at Ortlieb's, supported by Buddie and Kirby Sybert.

After a pressure cooker of a week, this weekend offers the opportunity to let out some steam, ease the tension, and let loose. This evening, Cheerleader heads the billing at Johnny Brenda’s. The quintet’s misty, refreshing melodies wash over you in a pleasantly cruising daydream. An inherent, rolling, rhythmic optimism sticks into the grooves, escaping the day-to-day grind. Tonight, they’ll be supported by Buffalo garage-rock trio Made Violent and the Brooks Brothers-led musical ensemble of Louds, whose bright, bubbling pop-rock naturally spills over on to the dance floor.

On Saturday at Johnny Brenda's, the quirky sing-along, carnival, musical troupe of OhBree brings out all the bells and whistles, celebrating their new record Burn Bridges, Burn Pies. Orchestrating their precision-oriented, multi-faceted soundscapes, Grandchildren helps in setting the musical scene, along with the engaging, energy-rich ebb & flow of Mumblr and the subdued pop of Glenn Matthews.

Joining forces with the hilarious exploits of the Funny or Die crew, Cheerleader has a new video for “A Million Ways”. With a myriad of awkwardly humorous intimate encounters, the video embraces the oddities of loving relationships. Currently in the midst of a national tour, the video reignites the positivity of their pop-rock sound.

Below is a new soothing yet uplifting remix from Cheerleader of Hippo Campus's "Suicide Saturday." The bands connected last year on Cheerleader's first tour across the US. The Philly crew's next performance will be on Wednesday, November 18 at World Cafe Live at the Queen in Wilmington, DE.
